NSAI Standards News | Public consultation | Concrete sewer pipes, manholes & surface water pipes

NSAI Public consultation on standards relating to concrete sewer pipes, manholes & surface water pipes is open until 14th March 2022.

The scope of the standards:

I.S. 420 and I.S. 6, these standards are used in conjunction with I.S. EN 1916 for precast concrete pipes and I.S. EN 1917 for precast concrete manholes. They provide complementary requirements for unreinforced and reinforced concrete pipes and manholes which are mainly intended to be used for the conveyance of sewage, rainwater and surface water under gravity in Ireland.

I.S. 166 applies to unreinforced concrete cylindrical pipes and fittings with ogee joints for the conveyance of surface water when laid in trenches or ditches where there is no possibility of any excessive backfill or traffic load and where leakage at the joints is desired or is of no consequence.
