ACEI member firm Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG) is delighted to share the news of it's recent acquisition by the Venterra Group, following the official launch of the group on the 28th October 2021.

GDG has grown from its inception in 2011 into a specialist engineering consultancy, with over 120 employees, and offices across Ireland, the UK and most recently, the Netherlands, each servicing a wide variety of industries with specialist high-end design expertise and engineering advice.

GDG has been privileged to act as an independent consultancy working with a wide variety of clients. GDG’s work has included a vast range of infrastructure projects, both onshore and offshore, many of which have been award winning for their uniqueness and innovation. The acquisition of GDG by the Venterra Group provides a compelling opportunity for GDG to grow, whilst enabling the business to retain its brand identity, and continuing to deliver the excellent service that GDG’s clients expect.

Venterra Group is an exciting new venture exploring synergies for the offshore wind sector. The group consists of offshore wind industry supply chain companies that can develop solutions for the renewable energy sector, with a focus on offshore wind. GDG’s expertise in ground engineering and developing innovative solutions are critical components for future offshore and onshore projects. GDG’s service offering remains unaffected and our team will continue to service all project geotechnical requirements.

Venterra Group provides GDG with new sources of capital for future expansion, in addition to strategic partnerships for developing green industries across the world. GDG has a strategy to grow under the new ownership, which will allow to the business to tackle key societal challenges that impact on all civil engineering projects, including access to clean energies, efficient delivery of projects whilst minimising carbon footprints and addressing climate change impacts.
