Conditions Of Engagement
In October of 2000 the ACEI, in conjunction with Engineers Ireland, launched the revised Conditions of Engagement agreements for all engineering disciplines. The main changes to the agreements relate to the withdrawal of Fees Scales, in compliance with the requirements of the Competition Act 1996, and a major redraft in the liability of the Consulting Engineer area.
The liability aspect of each document agreement has been revised, particularly regarding the following categories:
- Collateral Warranties
- Joint and Several Liability
- Consequential Loss
- Extent of Liability
- Copies of the new Conditions of Engagement documents are available from both the ACEI and Engineers Ireland offices.
