NSAI/ETC/TC 02/WG 03 - Consultation - New Solutions for Distribution System Interfaces for Public On-Street EV Charging< back to news

acei.ie

Ireland’s Climate Action Plan, released in 2019, and the National Energy & Climate Plan, released in 2020, has set a target for 936,000 electric vehicles by 2030. While it is envisaged that the majority of electric vehicle charging will take place at home, public on-street chargepoint infrastructure will also be required to meet future electric vehicle user needs.

This consultation will present an overview of new solutions for connection of public on-street electric vehicle charging infrastructure to the distribution system that are consistent with current legislation and present possible new interface solutions to facilitate both high powered (22 kW) and low powered (7 kW) chargepoints.

Please note that the deadline for receipt of feedback on the strategy is 5pm on Monday, 18th January 2021.  Further details are here.
