RPS Consulting Engineers were the Joint award winners of the 2018 ACEI Award in the Overseas - Large Project Category for their project, M8/M73/M74 Motorway Improvements Project UK.
The M8/M73/M74 Motorway improvements involved the completion of a motorway with junction upgrades and underpasses on Scotland’s busiest road. Site conditions were constrained and live traffic of 100,000 movements per day had to be managed together along with working on a flood plain and controlling artesian ground water pressures. The design and execution were carried out excellently, with the minimum of disruption to daily users and provided an enhanced environment on completion.
