ACEI Member News Press Release – 11th July 2006 Roughan & O'Donovan Consulting Engineers makes changes in Senior Management Roughan & O'Donovan, who recently received the ACEI Presidential Awards for the design of the River Boyne cable stayed bridge, have announced a major strengthening of senior management, with the appointment of five new Directors. The new Directors are Tony Dempsey, Marc Jones, Mark Kilcullen, Harry Meighan and Richard Power. They will join the existing Directors of Joe O’Donovan (Chairman), Garry Smyth (Managing Director), John Harkin (Secretary) and Seamus MacGearailt. As one of the leading engineering practices in Ireland, engaged in road and rail design, Roughan & O’Donovan have been responsible for the design of some of Ireland’s best known bridges. Recent examples include the Willliam J. Dargan LUAS Bridge in Dundrum and the Boyne Bridge on the M1 Drogheda Bypass, Ireland’s first ever major cable stayed bridge. These dynamic and contemporary bridges have become landmark structures in Ireland’s developing infrastructure. Commenting on the announcement, Joe O’Donovan, a founding partner of Roughan & O’Donovan, said “These changes will consolidate Roughan & O’ Donovan’s position amongst the leading Irish Consulting Engineers involved in the design of Transportation Infrastructure, Structural Design and Environmental Services’’.
