Jennings O’Donovan & Partners are delighted to announce that David Kiely, joint CEO and co-owner of the company is the Sligo Chamber Business Person of the Year. David will be presented with the Award at the Sligo Chamber Dinner in the Sligo Park Hotel this Friday night, November 25.

Commenting on the Award, President of Sligo Chamber Gerry Moore said “David has shown great leadership in committing Jennings O’Donovan to new international markets in the Middle East and Eastern Europe and in winning significant new work. Through David’s experience, vision, leadership and persistence, Jennings O’Donovan were recently awarded the prestigious €2.8m contract as Primary Infrastructure Designers to the Diyar Al Muharraq Development in Bahrain. Jennings O’Donovan & Partners is a significant indigenous employer in Sligo, it is a great ambassador for promoting Sligo internationally and I am delighted that David is being recognised for his contribution to the local economy”.

This latest Award for David follows on from what has been an outstanding twelve months for Jennings O’Donovan which have seen the company secure the aforementioned €2.8m contract in Bahrain; win the Engineers Ireland CPD Company of the Year 2011; National Finalist in the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Award; Finalist in the Engineers Ireland Chartered Engineer of the Year; and one of 27 Irish companies selected to participate in the first ever Enterprise Ireland Leadership for Chief Financial Officers 10 month Programme delivered by Stanford University.

A truly remarkable set of achievements against a backdrop of such challenging economic times. And all capped by the coup de grace, the Award to David Kiely of Sligo Business Person of the Year. An outstanding achievement. Truly merited. Congratulations David, well deserved.
