The ACEI 2009 Annual Awards were presented at the Annual Dinner in the Four Seasons Hotel on Friday 27th March 2009.
Excellence Award
To stimulate excellence and innovation amongst members of the Association, an Annual Award is presented each year for Excellence in the design of a completed project in one of the disciplines. The award is rotated on an annual basis within the main discipline categories i.e. Civil, Structural or Mechanical & Electrical. The award is conferred on a Member Firm whose nominated project is considered by the adjudicator as the best of those nominated
2009 Excellence Award (Civil) - Category (Bridges)

President Mr. Michael McSweeney presented Excellence Award for Civil Project in the Bridges Category to Mr Troy Burton of Arup Consulting Engineers for the Living Bridge at University of Limerick.

President Mr. Michael McSweeney Presented Excellence Award in the Other Civil Projects category to Garry Smith, Marc Jones and Hugh O’Sullivan of Roughan & O’ Donovan and Michael Noonan of RPS Consulting Engineers Ltd for the design of the M8/N8 Cullahill to Cashel Road Improvement Scheme.
